ANZCVS Epidemiology Chapter

The ANZCVS Epidemiology Chapter is comprised of over 250 members and continues to grow each year. The Chapter’s objectives are to:

  • Provide a means of entry to the College for those with a particular interest in veterinary epidemiology;
  • Provide a means of accreditation of veterinary epidemiologists;
  • Encourage research in, and application of, veterinary epidemiology;
  • Facilitate the exchange of knowledge between veterinary epidemiologists;
  • Further the professional education and training of veterinary epidemiologists; and
  • Encourage publications in the sphere of veterinary epidemiology.

The Epidemiology Chapter achieves these objectives by:

  • Assisting candidates for Membership and Fellowship examination, including through a mentor system and provision of a study guide;
  • Providing examiners for Membership and Fellowship exams;
  • Supporting and delivering continuing education opportunities for its members, including organising a program as part of the annual ANZCVS Science Week conference; and
  • Awarding a medal to a final year veterinary student at all veterinary schools in Australia and New Zealand for excellence in veterinary epidemiology.

If you are interested in learning more about the field of epidemiology or would like more information on the ANZCVS examination process, visit the College’s website, or get in touch with the ANZCVS Epidemiology Chapter (presidentepi@anzcvs.org.au).
